Duo of skiers on the slope…for this painting in losange original acrylic on canvas. When we talk about original work* in painting it means that there is that a painting like this one.

The artist’s word

The inspiration of the diamond format is a tribute to the works of Piet Mondrian. Sometimes I take part of the composition, here I just used the square diamond format. We find my favorite colors, orange and blue. Skiers are treated in monochrome phthalo blue. That is, I used only this blue and white. The bottom was worked with a knife using a medium*. I also exhibited it in Auron during the 1st sliding festival. The thick frame (4.5cm) makes the work ready for display. On the picture side, the colors are not very accurate. Please refer to the front photo for color accuracy.

* to be painted is a preparation based on binder and thinner, or even resin, used to modify the consistency of the paint.
The medium is mainly used with paste paints such as oil and acrylic paints, more rarely in watercolours or gouache. In particular, it improves the consistency of the dough and produces glazes or texture effects such as light impastoes. There is also a medium composed of rock powder and fir resin.
Other specific media, gel or liquid, can help to make the paint opaque or transparent, matt or glossy, fluid or thick or help it dry more slowly or quickly.
